artist statement
I create sculptural ceramic vessels inspired by botanical forms, natural textures, and the structural rhythms of the natural world. I begin each piece on the potter’s wheel, using its speed and precision to establish the foundation of the form. From there, I work intuitively by hand, altering, and manipulating the surface to introduce movement, texture, and individuality.
Through this process, precision gives way to something more organic and expressive, allowing each vessel to develop its own character. The finished pieces balance refinement with irregularity, resulting in forms that feel tactile, earthy, and naturally imperfect.
My artistic path has carried me through a variety of mediums and creative industries, each shaping the way I approach making. Yet it is in ceramics that I have found my deepest sense of connection and purpose. Working with clay allows me to embrace imperfection and create objects that feel both intentional and deeply connected to the natural world.
